Designing a Weekly Check-In That Actually Sticks
The best progress tracking system is the one you don't quit. A few small anchors turn a weekly check-in from a chore into a background habit.
Habits fail when they compete with everything else on your calendar. Anchor your check-in to something you already do — post-workout on the same day, first thing on a Sunday, before your morning shower. The specific slot matters less than the fact that it never moves.
Prep the environment once. Same corner of the room, same lighting, same phone position. Removing decisions removes friction. If the setup takes more than ten seconds, the check-in is already too expensive.
Trust the timeline. Week-to-week changes are almost invisible. Month-to-month changes are unmistakable. The habit is what earns you the second view.
