Lighting Is Half the Photo — and Most of the Variance

You can't out-train bad lighting. A few fixed rules turn your check-in space into a repeatable studio.

Front-facing, diffuse, overhead light flattens detail. Side lighting reveals it. Neither is wrong, but mixing them week to week makes it impossible to tell whether you've changed or the room has.

Pick one lighting setup and commit. Natural light from a single window, or a fixed overhead lamp — either works if it's consistent. Note the position on day one and never change it.

The goal isn't a flattering photo. It's a comparable one.
