Eliminating Camera Angles: The Science of Accurate Progress Tracking
A five-degree tilt in the phone can add or subtract a visible inch on your waist. Repeatable camera geometry is the difference between tracking a body and tracking a lens.
Parallax is not aesthetic — it is measurement error
When the camera tilts up, the lower body compresses and the upper body stretches. When it tilts down, the opposite happens. This is parallax, and it is the single most common reason progress photos disagree with the mirror.
The fix is mechanical. The phone must be at a fixed height — typically navel level — perpendicular to the floor, at the same distance from the wall every time. PhysiqueLens' guided capture enforces alignment against a stored reference so you don't have to eyeball it.
Distance, height, and orientation
Distance controls framing. Height controls parallax. Orientation controls symmetry. All three must be repeatable, or the photo is measuring the setup, not the body.
